The things we say

I hear myself saying the same things over and over. Here are a few...
1. Get your hand out of your pants.
2. Why are you on the table?
3. Is everybody happy? (this is usually when the kids are all buckled before I leave the driveway)
4. Did you brush your teeth yet?
5. You can have a snack after you eat dinner.
6. If I had to choose out of all the 6 year old boys in the world I'd pick you.
7. Do you need to potty?
8. Where is the head to that Star Wars guy?
9. No Honey, you have no idea...I love you. (this is a you-are-aggrevating-me-but-I-love-you-anyway comment)
10. If you don't stop sucking your thumb your teeth are going to look like Bug Bunny's teeth.
11. You were not born with a spirit of fear.

Introducing Taz

We affectionately named our baby girl Kenly Faith for a reason. Kenly to honor Popa whose name is Ken and Faith because of Taylor's strong faith that he was going to get the baby sister he had prayed for. I love her name and everything is stands for. Over the past 15 months I have probably only called her by her name a half dozen times. We call her "baby girl", "pretty girl", "pretty one" and her latest name is Taz, short for Tazmanian Angel. In a matter of 5 seconds she can empty out the cabinet with the Rubbermaid containers in it, run over and take out all the table cloths, speed over to the wet wipes container and pull them all out and then climb up on the kitchen table. Oh I forgot to mention that she also went by her brothers playing with their Star Wars toys and grabbed one, took off running and never looked back except when she knew she was way ahead of whoever was chasing her to get the toy back. This sweet, adorable little girl is wreaking havoc on our house. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Potty Training

Here I go trying to potty train a kid that would rather keep playing with his Star Wars droid or watch Diego that run to the bathroom when he feels the urge. I'm actually tired of hearing me say "Do you need to potty?", "Are your pants dry?", "Don't forget to peepee in the potty." Man, it's hard to remember to go myself let alone trying to remind someone else every 15-20 minutes. He's obviously ready though. Today is day 4 and we went to play group then Chickfilet with no accidents. My little stash of skittles was in the diaper bag and I broke them out three times while we were gone. He's sleeping peacefully with his Wall-e "nunderwear" on so I'm praying that Wall-e isn't drenched when he wakes up.

God has a sense of humor...I hope

Here's Taylor's bedtime prayer last night (in his "Mater" voice)...

Dear Lord,
Thank you for this day, Thank you for my mutha, my fatha, my brotha and my sista. Oh and please give my people sweet dreams. Amen.

So I wonder, since it's from the Lord I'm assuming He has a sense of humor.

My prayer is that I can be the mom that my kids need me to be and that I'm patient to the differences, that I'm kind to their sensitivities and that I can laugh when they need me to.
